The Crew Dragon Endeavor spacecraft carrying Andrei Fedyaev, Stephen Bowen, Woody Hoburgh and Sultan al-Naidi crashed into the Atlantic Ocean near Jacksonville, Florida on September 4 at 07:17 Moscow time.
According to the US Federal Aviation Administration, during the descent to the Earth’s surface, the human-mounted device accelerated to 27 thousand km/h and warmed up to 1900 °C. Thanks to the thermal screens, the temperature inside the cabin did not exceed 37.8°C.
The capsule was retrieved shortly after the jump by the SpaceX Megan rescue ship, named after astronaut Megan MacArthur. Megan MacArthur was one of the first women to fly in the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft.
The operation to pull the ship out of the water took no more than 60 minutes, as NASA required.
After the Crew Dragon was lifted to Megan, the Crew-6 crew passed a medical examination. The team was then taken by helicopter to the airport and from there they were flown to Houston, Texas.
Formerly Roscosmos approved The safe return to Earth of Andrey Fedyaev and the other members of Crew-6.
