375 people participated in the study, and all of them were subjected to various questionnaires and interviews. Thus, the scientists were able to collect demographic data about the volunteers, their personal characteristics, and their beliefs about certain sex-related myths.
The authors found that belief in sexual myths was high in people who did not discuss the topic of sex with their loved ones. They were also more likely to be injured. Also, adherence to irrational beliefs was high among the very religious volunteers.
