Automatic station “Luna-25” recorded the moment of impact of a micrometeorite, reports TASS With reference to Roscosmos.

The government agency stated that the PML (Moon’s dust monitor) instrument recorded a micrometeorite impact event.

It is stated that the micrometeorite most likely belongs to the Perseid meteor shower.

Previously, the Russian spacecraft “Luna-25” successfully appeared into the orbit of the moon.

On August 14, the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences released the first images from the Luna-25 automatic station flying towards Earth’s natural satellite.
