A citizen of Ukraine in the country was the first to change his surname to a match name and also remember his first and last name.Ukrayinska Pravda describes this case.
“A 16-year-old girl who changed her last name, first name and surname for the first time in Ukraine chose a matronym for her name instead of a surname,” the newspaper writes.
It was noted that the girl is now called Stanislav Leseevna Litvinenko.
According to the girl’s mother, the girl took the surname of her father who raised her and changed her name to what her mother wanted to call her at birth.
July 3rd reportedThe Judicial Panel of the Constitutional Court of Kyrgyzstan allowed citizens of countries over the age of 16 to take a match name instead of a surname. The court noted that since matchmaking can cause bullying of the child, this can only be done after he has come of age. The Constitutional Court expressed confidence that this decision did not violate the naming traditions of the Kyrgyz community.
