A soldier opened fire on the funeral of his own child in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, killing at least 13 people, including children among the victims. It has been reported Reuters.
“At least 13 people, including 9 children, died as a result of shooting at people gathered to mourn the death of their child on Saturday evening,” regional officials quoted the agency as saying.
Presumably the man who started shooting at people escaped the mourning ceremony. Military search continues.
The motives of the action of the person who brought a gun to his child’s funeral are not sought.
