According to the publication, most often the victims are people who left large sums in their accounts after the sale of the house.
“Attackers are looking for people who have recently sold or traded an apartment, and they have lost the income. They are looking for their victims, pretending to be bank or police officers and convincing that someone has accessed the account and is trying to withdraw money,” the publication says.
It is noted that after this the scammers act according to the standard scheme – they ask their victims to transfer the money to a secure account and send the details. As soon as the victim performs the actions indicated by the attackers, he immediately loses money.
