According to a study by VSK Insurance House, in 2023, Russians began to apply to psychologists more often. socialbites.ca learned about the results.

Thus, the monthly average number of consultations increased by 54% this year. Since the beginning of the year, Russians are most interested in problems in relations with their soul mate – 22% of appointments of psychologists and psychotherapists were devoted to this topic.

The 10 most common topics of discussion with psychologists included: relationships in a couple (22%); emotional spectrum issues (20% of requests); anxiety (8%); personal, age and family crises (7%); problems with self-esteem (6.3%); child-parent relationships (5%); depression (4.7%); career and self-determination (4%). In addition, the overall share of work-related requests is 7.5% (including peer relations, management, time management and empowerment); difficulties in choosing and making decisions (4%); stress (3.6%).

Also, Russians often experience procrastination, various fears, panic attacks, emotional exhaustion, psychosomatic symptoms, etc.
Men began to take care of their mental health almost as much as women – if the share of men in the overall structure of visits to doctors under VMI does not exceed 40%, then among psychologists this figure is 47%. The average patient age among men is 42, women begin to turn to psychologists at an earlier age – at 37.

In addition to the capital region, the largest share (in decreasing order) of requests to psychologists in 2023 is Yakutia, St. Petersburg, Saratov Region, Tula Region, Komi and Krasnodar Territory.
