The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported on its Telegram channel that it presented new doubts to the rector of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra Pavel (Petr Lebed).

According to the SBU, the Metropolitan gave a video interview to one of the media, which he denied the existence of Ukraine as a sovereign state and described what happened in Ukraine as an internal conflict that has been going on since 2014.

SBU investigators informed the metropolitan of a new suspicion under articles that the equality of citizens due to their religious beliefs is repeatedly violated and the Russian Federation justifies its actions. According to these articles, he is on trial for up to 8 years in prison for the confiscation of property.

Currently, the issue of choosing a restraining measure in the form of detention for Lebed is being decided. The SBU added that investigative actions are continuing.
