Vladimir, a resident of the city of Khosta, Sochi, told socialbites.ca that after night showers, the road to the residential complex, where he lived, was full of cars. He noted that at least 15 cars were damaged due to the rains.

“I live in Khosta City residential complex Khosta. We are blocked, the only road to the complex is full of cars. No one, no special equipment. If someone gets sick, not even an ambulance can reach us. At least 15 vehicles were damaged,” he said.

Khosta resident Lyudmila added in an interview with socialbites.ca that at night, due to the downpour, “everything rumbles and it becomes difficult to fall asleep.” She explained that there was no light in her house all night, and that her husband, returning from Adler in the morning, had to cross a mountain road.

“I live in the mountains above the village of Khosta, Ilarionovka. Her husband was returning from Adler via Khosta at 6 am, then it was impossible to drive on the mountain road in the DOK region. The construction of the hotel complex on the mountain brings with it many problems, from there it washed a lot of stones, dirt, had to go through the old road from the fire station. The pavement at Khosta bridge is badly damaged, looks like it was bombed. Now the bus has started to move, which means the congestion is gone. There was a very heavy downpour, lightning and a thunderstorm, wind. It continues to rain intermittently. Everything was so loud that it was difficult to fall asleep. There was hardly any light all night and only flashes of lightning illuminated the house,” he explained.

On Sunday night, heavy rains fell in Khosta, Sochi, resulting in damage to the area’s infrastructure. In addition, eyewitnesses posted images of numerous cars dragged by the rain on social networks.
