New federal law provides administrative liability for violations in methanol circulation, reports TASS Regarding the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
Administrative liability is provided for violations. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is also developing draft laws for sectoral regulation on the production and circulation of methanol and methanol-containing liquids.
Former Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation developed draft law on the introduction of state regulation of methanol production and turnover.
Turnover is now controlled within the framework of the Unified State Automatic Accounting System for Ethyl Alcohol Production and Turnover (EGAIS).
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, this measure will help establish a system for recording production volumes as well as the sale and use of methanol on the market.
In May, the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed a system for monitoring the circulation of methanol, citing the increase in the number of cases of poisoning with methanol and methanol-containing liquids under the guise of alcoholic beverages.
