According to the mayor, there are quite a lot of pavilions in Moscow, but not enough high-tech pavilions and almost no modern pavilions built with the latest shooting technologies.

The mayor believes that in order for Moscow cinema to progress and be competitive, it must create technological opportunities for it. That’s why the city decided to help the producers by creating a new creative cluster.

“We set ourselves the task of creating the pavilion of yesterday, the day before yesterday, not even today, but exactly tomorrow,” Sobyanin said.

The cluster will have three sites. The first is METMASH on Ryazansky Prospekt, which has a full-time filmmaking background.

The mayor stated that the rebuilding of the first 10 buildings will be completed this year. There will be pavilions for film and commercial shooting, a costume and decor house, and a cinema school.

The cluster will also open a Visual Technology Center, an Innovation Development Center for the Film Industry and 12 pavilions. All works will be completed in 2026.

The second area is Moskino Cinema Park, where open-air filming will take place in Krasnaya Pakhra.
