Specialists of the Mars helicopter Ingenuity mission managed to establish contact with him. In this respect informs NASA.

26 April Ingenuity made its 52nd flight and successfully completed it. However, mission controllers at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory lost contact with the vehicle as it descended to the surface. This was expected because there was a hill between the helicopter landing site and the location of the Perseverance rover, preventing communication between them. The rover acts as a radio relay between the helicopter and Earth, and so researchers hoped to re-establish contact once Perseverance had advanced further along the route and was in line of sight. As a result, contact was restored when the rover climbed to the top of the hill on 28 June.

During Flight 52, the device rose to 363 meters and remained in the air for 139 seconds. Their main goal was to take pictures of the Martian surface and change positions: the rover moves along the research route, and the helicopter is periodically forced to fly from place to place and follow it.

Ingenuity is the first spacecraft designed to fly in the Martian atmosphere. This helicopter is made according to a coaxial scheme, the diameter of the propellers reaches 1.2 meters, and the total weight is 1.8 kilograms.

formerly NASA sent Video of Marsolete Ingenuity’s fastest and longest flight.
