Employees of the state traffic inspectorate stopped an SUV on the Nikolaevsk-on-Umur-Selikhino highway to check documents. The 38-year-old resident of Komsomolsk-on-Amur drove the car.
The police decided to check the trunk of the vehicle and found boxes full of plastic containers. In total, they fit 317 containers with a half-liter volume and two containers with a volume of 0.25 liters, each of which contains fish caviar from the sturgeon family.
According to the department, the total weight of the precious find was about 160 kilograms. The carrier promised to deliver the boxes at his friend’s request, stating that he did not know exactly what the boxes were filled with. According to the woman, she bought them from the side of the road from people she didn’t know.
The woman was detained on suspicion of illegal circulation of aquatic biological resources. A criminal case initiated for a crime under Part 3 of Art. 258.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the investigators took up the work. They engage in the establishment of the detainee’s accomplices and other possible criminal activity segments.
