Archaeologists of the Institute for the History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IIMK RAS) discovered a unique stone building of ancient times during excavations in Sevastopol. The structure is located on the west side of the ancient street, which passes through the Chersonese gates through the territory of the necropolis.

It is stated that the complex combines the public building and the mausoleum. The upper part of the building is a ritual gazebo, and the lower part is a burial complex, possibly in which the remains of members of a noble dynasty are buried.

The total excavation area in the territory of Chersonesos is over 83 thousand square meters. Previously, a complex of temple buildings, a heroon, a columbarium tomb, a tholos and a slab tomb were discovered here.
