Russian state enterprise Roscosmos, telegraph channel Satellite image of the wrecked wreck of the batiskaf “Titan”.
The picture was taken by the Canopus-V spacecraft in the North Atlantic, where the search for the device ended.
As reminded in the government agency, communication with Titan was cut off on the night of 19 June after the expedition to the wreckage of the Titanic.
Apparently, according to Roskosmos, the crew died instantly “due to some kind of malfunction”, and then due to the “collapse” of the body of the apparatus. They stressed that for every km of depth, the pressure increases by about 100 atmospheres.
Roscosmos added that OceanGate Expeditions, the owner of the submerged, safely delivered about 80 people to the sunken Titanic in two years.
Formerly US Coast Guard reported about the start of the investigation into the bathyscaf accident.
Communication with the “Titan” bath tub was lost on June 18, 1 hour and 45 minutes after the apparatus was immersed in water. On the morning of 19 June, the search and rescue operation began. The wreckage of the bathhouse was found in the search area on June 22.
