A woman died during a children’s football match in Rostov-on-Don – mortally injured as a result of the collapse of the upturned stands by strong winds. This was reported in the regional department of the Ministry of Emergencies, information about the victim was also confirmed by the governor Vasily Golubev.
“At 16:25 Moscow time, a message was received that a stand had collapsed on the territory of the Rowing Canal. According to the latest data, as a result of the incident, a woman died and eight people were injured, including seven children and one man. Children are taken to a health institution to be examined,” he said.
Golubev stated that the prefabricated structures of the stands were overturned by a strong wind.
“There was an emergency at the Rowing Canal. During a football match, a strong wind knocked over the prefabricated structures of the spectator stands.
