According to the news of the Baza Telegram channel, the wife and son of the representative of the North Korean Consulate General in Vladivostok disappeared.

It is alleged that this is 15-year-old Pak Kwon-joo, the wife and son of 43-year-old Kim Kum Sun and 62-year-old Consul General Choi Yong Nam.

On June 4, a young woman got into a taxi on the territory of the DPRK Consulate General in Vladivostok on Nevskaya Street. After that no one saw them and they didn’t contact them – cell phones not available.

Law enforcement found a taxi driver who left them. The man said he dropped passengers on Russkaya Street, near the cinema. Investigators checked his words on security cameras, recordings confirmed the statement.

Sources of the Baza Telegram channel suggest that the woman may have fled with her son to China or South Korea. According to law enforcement officials, after the taxi, the relatives of the employee of the DPRK Consulate General got into another car and probably set off for Khabarovsk.

The Telegram channel also claims that Kim Kum Soon and Pak Kwon Joo left the Consulate General building with three boxes, possibly along with their personal belongings.

On the morning of June 7, a TASS source reported that the wife and son of the DPRK Vladivostok Consul General had not disappeared. “North Korea’s Vladivostok Consul General’s wife and son are in good condition, they did not disappear. An unnamed agency source said the media had misinformation.

“In a number of media, information was announced that on June 4, 2023, a woman and her 15-year-old son disappeared in the Primorsky Territory. Based on this fact, the investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Primorsky District of the Russian Federation launched a criminal case.

Local social media also posted announcements calling for two North Korean citizens. Orientations are published by the Primorsky regional public organization “Primpoisk”:

“Attention! People gone! Kim Kum Sun, 43 years old (born 1980), Pak Kwon-ju, 15 years old (born 2008) … They left the DPRK Consulate General area on June 4, 2023. Nevskaya, d. 12a and until now Their whereabouts are unknown.”

It was recorded that the woman wore a white shirt and black trousers, while the student wore a black windbreaker and gray trousers.

Vl.aif.ru correspondent spoke with Kristina Wulfert, coordinator of the NGO “PrimPoisk”, who said that information about the disappearance of the mother and child was provided by the employees of the Investigative Committee of the RF Investigative Committee in Primorsky Krai. However, the posts were later deleted at the request of UK representatives.

The publication also sent a request to the Russian Foreign Ministry. Andrey Brovarets, spokesman for the agency in Vladivostok, said no “official appeal” had been made about the two missing North Korean nationals. The agency does not take any action in this regard.
