A call to the Telephone Service for Victims of Human Trafficking led the National Police to crack down on a criminal organization dedicated to prostitution for Paraguayan women in Cuenca, Cuenca. an operation in which they managed to save five women and arrest six members of the gang. This call to the Telephone Assistance Service for Victims of Trafficking gathered information about the criminal network and how they recruit and exploit women, police reported this Wednesday.
Made up of members with family ties, the organization had a strong infrastructure to recruit women in Paraguay, where they took advantage of their vulnerability to promise women decent work and a better life in Spain. LThe women flew to Madrid or Barcelona to be transferred to Cuenca in a vehicle later on.They took them to a boarding house where they lived and came to Spain and said that they had a debt that they had to pay by prostitution.
Upon receiving this information, the National Police launched the operation that led to them freeing the five women. Two entry registrations to a hostess club and a hostel where 1,375 euros in cash were seized and various documents. They arrested six members of the organization, five in Cuenca and one in Madrid, on charges of membership in a criminal organization, human trafficking, prostitution, and crimes against the rights of foreign citizens and workers’ rights. and it is not excluded that more arrests may occur.
