Shoigu says Ukraine attempted counterattack

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Ukraine had attempted a long-promised counterattack in the past three days.

According to him, on June 4, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) tried to attack in five directions with the help of two brigades, but did not succeed and lost 300 soldiers.

He also noted that on June 5, the Ukrainian Armed Forces with forces consisting of five brigades tried to attack from seven directions, but were stopped and inflicted significant losses.

Shoigu added that Ukraine’s casualties during the attempted offensive on June 5 were more than 1,600 fighters.
