A massive explosion occurred at the Saratoga Hotel in the capital of Cuba. As a result, the hotel was partially destroyed and nearby vehicles were damaged. The exact cause of the incident is not yet known. Preliminary version – leakage and explosion of household gas from a filling tank.

Nana Mgeladze, Consul General of the Russian Federation to Cuba, said that the Russian consulate has not received information about the Russians who may be injured in the explosion that took place in the hotel in Havana.

Saratoga is one of the most famous hotels in Havana. The building was built in the 19th century and served as a hotel from 1933 to the 1960s. Over the years, King Madonna of Morocco and a delegation from the US Congress have filmed rooms there. The modern hotel was opened in 2005 after restoration.
