On the morning of June 1, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported that the Shebekinsky district was under massive bombardment, while there was no talk of a breakthrough by the Ukrainian army. Eight people were injured.

The governor noted that the inhabitants of Shebekino and the surrounding villages were removed from the region. The situation is complicated by heavy enemy fire. Gladkov urged not to evacuate directly during the bombardment, but also noted that in case of urgent need, authorities will place protected equipment in citizens’ homes.
