About 2 million people were left without electricity in Ukraine

Nearly 2 million people in Ukraine were left without power due to power outages (the owner of Meta was considered an extremist and banned in Russia), the country’s Energy Ministry reported on Facebook.

The emergency at the power system operator occurred in the afternoon of 30 May and turned into power outages.

Failures were observed in Kiev and parts of Ukraine: Vinnitsa, Dnepropetrovsk, Kiev, Kirovograd, Nikolaev.

In addition, residents of Odessa, Poltava, Kharkiv, Khmelnytsky and Cherkasy, as well as part of the Zaporozhye region controlled by Kiev, remained without electricity.

The Department of Energy added that this failure was the biggest since February 2023.

A few days ago in Ukrenergo reportedthat by the end of winter, 40-50% of Ukraine’s electricity system was destroyed.
