A judge in Pakistan has acquitted a man who shot his daughter in a courtroom. The girl ran away from her relatives, as she was forced into marriage. In this respect informs geonews.
According to the publication, 19-year-old Hajira ran away from home because they wanted to force her to marry. After a while, she justified herself with the marriage that her family did not like. The girl’s father wrote a statement about his daughter’s abduction.
On January 23, 2023, Hajira was taken to the city courthouse to testify before the magistrate. During the interview, the father shot the daughter “in the name of honor”. A senior police officer, three suspects involved in the kidnapping, and an eyewitness were also injured.
The man was charged with willful murder, attempted murder, assault on a public official and possession of illegal weapons.
