Authorities’ comments
The chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, Andrei Kartapolov, commented on RBC about the drone attack on Moscow and the region. According to him, this was possible because of the size of Russia, and “there will always be a gap where the drone can fly, bypassing areas where air defense systems are located.” Kartapolov called for an analysis of what happened and the development of countermeasures.
“This is mostly an information campaign. It was designed that now a wave of panic would rise, they would start putting everything off. It is important for us not to allow this. “This is an act of intimidation against the civilian population,” he said.
– said.
In response, Alexander Khinshtein, chairman of the State Duma Information Policy Committee, said that today’s drone strike is “a new reality that needs to be realized.”
