According to the BBC’s report, an official in India named Rajesh Vishwas dropped his phone in water and ordered the evacuation of Herkatta Dam in Chhattisgarh state.
Vishwas dropped the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra while taking a selfie. After an unsuccessful search with the help of divers, Vish was paid for three days’ delivery and use of a diesel pump.
The official himself claims that the phone contains confidential government data and also obtained verbal permission to dump “some water into the nearest canal”, which should be useful to the farmers.
However, in the end, Vishwas was expelled from the government.
