Scientists from Naturecan conducted a survey showing that the majority of respondents prefer morning sex, explaining this as providing more satisfaction than sex at other times of the day. It has been reported daily mail.
The results came from a survey of 500 men and 500 women, most of whom were in long-term relationships. They were asked to record the times they had sex for six weeks. They also rated their enjoyment of sex on a 10-point scale.
The optimal time for sex, which almost one in four people chose, was 7:30 in the morning. Two-thirds of people chose morning sex (between 7:00 and 10:30) as the most enjoyable sex.
Only 33% reported that their best sex was at night, 16% chose 21:00 as their best time, 15% chose 22:00 and only 2% chose 23:00.
Because sex releases endorphins, sociologists suggest that morning sex may be a way to start the day in a good mood.
Previous research has shown that women prefer evening sex and it is women who tend to choose when a couple has sex.
