The Mash on the Wave Telegram channel has broadcast a video of a Russian medium reconnaissance ship entering the near, far sea and ocean zone (communication ship) in the Sevastopol gulf. There is no visible damage to the ship, it reached the bay by its own means without a tugboat.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that in the early hours of May 24, three Ukrainian navy UAVs attacked Ivan Khurs, 140 km from the Bosphorus.
“All enemy boats were destroyed by fire from the standard guns of the Russian ship,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Project “Ivan Hurs” 18280 became part of the Russian Navy in June 2018. The length of the ship is 95 m, its displacement is 2.5 thousand tons, its crew is 120 people. The ship is armed with four 14.5 mm navy pedestal machine gun mounts MTPU “Sting” and MANPADS of the type “Igla”, “Verba”.
But then the Ukrainian side released a video, presumably one of the unmanned boats shooting from the onboard camera and still reaching the target. It may not have exploded on contact with the ship.
It was noted that Ivan Khurs carried out duties to ensure the security of the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream natural gas pipelines in Turkish territorial waters. This mission was set after the sabotage of Nord Stream in September 2022 and the attempted terrorist attack on South Stream, which was stopped by the FSB.
It is also possible that the Ukrainian army used the “grain corridor” route envisioned by the Black Sea Food Initiative to attack the Russian ship. Thus, Ukrainian ships inevitably pass through the Bosphorus. When signing the “grain treaty”, the Russian side assumed the obligation not to attack these ships. The Ukrainian side, on the other hand, promised not to use the route for military purposes on November 2, after the attack on Russian ships with the help of unmanned boats in Sevastopol on October 29.
The Russian side reported that immediately after the signing of the food agreement, the conditions approved by Moscow in the memorandum were not met. Therefore, Moscow demands to reconnect Rosselkhozbank to the SWIFT system, launch the Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline, dissolve the assets of Russian companies and remove the logistics for supplies needed by the Russian Federation.
The Russian Federation extended the agreement twice, even though Moscow’s terms were not met. Türkiye initiated the extension of the agreement twice. Now the grain deal continues until July 17, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that if the conditions are not met, the agreement will be terminated, it will have to look for an alternative.
