Russian businessmen don’t have time for love, health and hobbies

YuKassa analysts (a service from YuMoney fintech company for accepting online and offline payments) interviewed entrepreneurs and learned from them what lies behind their lifestyles. “socialbites.ca” got acquainted with the results of the study.

When answering a question about success criteria, entrepreneurs can choose several options at once. Only 5% named popularity as a sign of success alongside wealth and power. According to 12% of respondents, someone who constantly moves up the career ladder can be called successful, and for 17% the indicator is popularity in the business world.

At the same time, the majority of respondents – 70% – consider making money from their favorite job, ideally from a hobby, as an important criterion for success. Slightly fewer respondents – 65% – see success in financial independence, and for 58% the important indicators are health, family and love.

Another 40% of respondents describe those who work for them and run their own business as successful. Almost the same number – 38% – believe that success is measured by the opportunity to rest and travel frequently, and 24% judge success by the company’s turnover.

According to 39% of entrepreneurs, the formula for success is to be good at what you love. And 24% of respondents say it’s important to keep balance: make time for work, family, fun and sports. One participant stated that the formula for success is based on intellectual productivity.

When answering the question about the personal qualities that help entrepreneurs succeed, 78% of respondents chose determination and responsibility, 49% the ability to concentrate, and 47% hard work. 27% of respondents believe that entrepreneurs should develop resilience, and 22% value the ability to save money.
In addition, about 20% of respondents expressed the opinion that an entrepreneur should be arrogant and honest both with himself and with customers. Discipline, the ability to analyze and deliver results are also important. A few entrepreneurs added that it is necessary to learn from the experience of others – study the situations of competitors and do not repeat their mistakes.

Most entrepreneurs interviewed tend to devote time to hobbies, not just with work, but also when dealing with family and work, personal growth and health. However, all these needs are 100% met in only 15% of respondents.

Responding to the question about the life balance wheel, where several options are possible, 30% of respondents indicated that several areas are not closed for them: hobbies, health, love. 19% of respondents have a strong bias towards career and self-education, 17% say they do not have time to deal with spiritual development and health, and 16% say they want to spend more time at home with their families. 12% of respondents said that finance and career come first in their lives and that hobbies and cultural development should be put off on an ongoing basis.

At the same time, more than half of the entrepreneurs surveyed – 53% – admitted that their families helped them on their way to success. Another 39% stated that they only trust themselves. Only 4% trust partners and 2% trust friends and colleagues.
