Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said Denmark and the Netherlands will lead a European coalition that will train Ukrainian pilots to operate F-16 fighter jets. It has been reported TASS.
“At today’s meeting, several allies and partners also discussed plans to train Ukrainian pilots to operate fourth-generation fighter jets, including the F-16,” Austin said.
He emphasized that the planning and implementation of the training would be a major challenge in this case. According to the Pentagon chief, this can be done with the coordination of the contact group.
Austin also expressed his gratitude to Denmark and the Netherlands, who decided to lead a coalition to prepare the Ukrainian forces for the use of the F-16.
