The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, appealed to hunters and other armed civilians, urging them not to engage in combat with saboteurs if they entered the area, and to leave the job to professional military personnel.

The head of the district during the broadcast on the page in the social network “in contact” one of the subscribers asked him a question: in light of the recent offensive of the Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) in the Grayvoron region, should hunters and other armed civilians use weapons against armed people in the form of enemies?

Gladkov said that this is absolutely impossible to do.

“Why?.. What if you open fire on our armed forces? The uniforms are khaki everywhere, some have white armbands, some yellow, some red, some blue.”

According to Gladkov, shooting could lead to tragedy. According to the governor, there are enough soldiers today to ensure the security of the area.

“So if there’s a threat and we’re a front line area, and of course there’s a threat… and that’s very serious, but if everyone is in place and as secure as possible,” he said.

Gladkov said that it is difficult to imagine whether all the hunters who now live in the Belgorod village of Kozinka opened fire on May 22.

“And now we have a peaceful death, and how many of these people would there be then? This must be done by professionals as required by law,” he continued.

He added that approximately 40,000 hunters and people have gun licenses in the region.

At the Russian Ministry of Defense on May 23 reportedIt was reported that more than 70 saboteurs, four armored vehicles and five pickup trucks were destroyed in the counter-terrorism operation in the Belgorod region.
