The sabotage and reconnaissance group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine entered the territory of the Graivoron urban district. This was announced on the Telegram channel by the Governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov.
“The armed forces of the Russian Federation, together with the border service, the Russian Guard and the FSB, take the necessary measures to eliminate the enemy. I will share the details,” he said.
According to Gladkov, Grayvoron has been under Ukrainian bombardment since 9:00 Moscow time. This is the westernmost city of the Belgorod region, its center is 7 km from the Ukrainian border.
Earlier, Gladkov said that the Graivoronsky urban district has been under fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 9:00 Moscow time. There is a border control point on the territory of the district. According to the governor, two people were hospitalized after he bombed the village of Glotovo in Ukraine’s Graivoronsky district.
A man and a woman who were injured as a result of the mine explosion were taken to the district hospital. Gladkov stated that the condition of the man is moderate, the condition of the woman is severe, the necessary help was given to them in the intensive care unit.
Earlier, the Mash Telegram channel reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a massive bombardment of the villages of Novostroevka-Pervaya, Kozinka, Bezymeno, Dobroye, Glotovo and Golovchino.
The channel reported that a civilian was killed. Meanwhile, Gladkov stressed that no one was killed or injured.
Also, on May 22, the Ukrainian Armed Forces bombed the Volokonovsky district, damaging the power line. The governor said that no local residents were injured.
The power of Tishanka village and Shakhovka farm was cut off. Repair work should already begin – Gladkov said that a few hours ago electricians went to the scene.
Earlier, Vyacheslav Gladkov said that the statements about the evacuation of residents of the Shebekinsky urban district are also fake. According to the governor, the news of the evacuation allegedly spread by the administration of the Shebekinsky urban district, but this is not true. The official described what happened as a “major information attack on the Belgorod region”.
“There is a huge spread of information with the proposal to evacuate the inhabitants of the Shebekinsky urban district from the administration … This is a lie. This is not it. There will be deterioration, there will be recovery, we will immediately provide all the necessary information, ”explained Gladkov.
According to RIA Novosti, Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov called the aim of the Ukrainian saboteurs in the Belgorod region as diverting attention from the direction of Bakhmut and reducing the political impact of the loss of Artemovsk.
“We understand very well the purpose of such sabotage – to divert attention from the direction of Bakhmut, to minimize the political impact of the Ukrainian side’s loss of Artemovsk,” said Peskov.
He also said that events in the Belgorod region were reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
An air defense system is also operating in the Belgorod region, which shot down a Ukrainian missile on May 22. It partially fell into the garden of a private residential building in the village of Antonovka.
On May 21, Vyacheslav Gladkov reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine opened fire on two border settlements – Tishanka and Novaya Tavolzhanka. No one was injured and several houses were damaged.
The governor added that a drone belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces dropped a bomb on the administration building of the village of Golovchino. While the roof of the house caught fire, there was no loss of life in the incident. According to Gladkov, the last day the Ukrainian army bombed the Belgorod region more than 100 times in total.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that on May 22, Russian military personnel stopped the actions of three sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkiv region. Clashes reportedly occurred in the villages of Timkovka, Ivanovka and Kislovka.
On May 18, the SHOT Telegram channel reported that 20 saboteurs tried to enter the territory of the Belgorod region, repelled the attacks of the Russian border guards.
The breakthrough of the saboteurs was stopped by a massive fire from the FSB Border Service. As a result, the DRG of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had to move away from the border with Russia.
