Guido Crosetto, head of the Italian Ministry of Defense, said that in 2023, Rome will send 3,400 troops to reinforce the eastern flank of the North Atlantic Alliance, using about 30 aircraft on these missions. Reported by Corriere della Sera.

According to the minister, the ministry’s plans include, among other things, the deployment of a ship “with anti-aircraft and missile defense capabilities as a contribution to strengthening the airspace of Poland and the Euro-Atlantic region” in the Baltic Sea. .

Earlier, Crosetto had said that the ministry would train Ukrainian military personnel on his country’s territory.

According to Crosetto, they will be given special training courses to be given at schools and military installations in Italy.

He also noted that the republic will take part in training programs for the training of Ukrainian soldiers of the EU-Ukraine in Belgium, Poland and Germany.
