Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko announced that 26 more objects in the city whose names are associated with Russia have been renamed. He wrote this on his Telegram channel.
“Today, the Kiev City Council cleared 26 city facilities of Russians,” the mayor said.
Thus, the name of the Druzhby Narodov metro station was changed to Zverinetskaya station, Lev Tolstoy Square to Ukrainian Heroes Square, Prospekt Pravdy project station to Varshavskaya station.
According to Klitschko, they also changed the names of several streets and avenues in different districts of Kiev. In total, 314 city objects received new names in the Ukrainian capital.
“The de-Russian process continues in Kiev,” the mayor summed up.

Before that, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported A bill on the so-called decolonization of place names, which prohibits the assignment of names associated with the Russian Federation to geographical objects and streets.
