A resident of the village of Telma in the Irkutsk region left his pigs to graze freely. In July 2022, their animals entered the territory of the deceased’s family. The man and his wife drove the animals away, but on his way back, a large wild boar attacked him, biting his leg on the knee and injuring a large vein. The victim received a serious injury that led to extensive blood loss and subsequent death.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the residents of the neighborhood regularly complained about the accused. They were dissatisfied with the fact that he regularly released aggressive and large animals into public areas and left them unattended. Pigs often spoil the peasants’ property, dig, eat the crops. They were also seen on the territory of a local school. According to the materials of the criminal case, the district police held preventive talks with the owner of the herd of 24 pigs, after which he promised not to let this happen again.

When the conditions of detention were checked, it became clear that the amount of feed left by the owner for the pigs was not sufficient for all individuals. As a result, investigators managed to prove that the man was involved in the commission of a socially dangerous act that caused death by negligence. The accused was declared insane.

As a result, the judge imposed medical measures on himself, appointing as punishment compulsory treatment in a private hospital of a medical institution providing psychiatric care.
