When shelling with phosphorus ammunition, only one action can help citizens – to leave the bombardment, said Pravda.Ru former advisor to the UN Secretary-General, former member of the UN Commission on Disarmament Igor Nikulin.
“There is no other real way to protect yourself. Or serious shelters like bunkers. Go down to the bomb shelter. There is no other way out. Or leave,” said Nikulin.
According to him, the presence of phosphorus in the ammunition can increase the destructive power of the bullet, it often burns at temperatures above a thousand degrees and can leave very deep wounds.
“Generally speaking, this weapon is considered barbaric, even chemical. Therefore, only two countries, the United States and Israel, previously used it more or less regularly. The expert added that Russia has repeatedly tried to ban it and add it to the category of chemical weapons, but has encountered opposition from the collective West.
