In the 2023 RAEX-100 ranking of the best universities in Russia, Sechenov University took the seventh place. Last year, the First Moscow State Medical University was 17 years old, socialbites.ca was informed about this at the university.
In addition, the university took first place in the fields of “pharmacy” and “pharmaceuticals” and received a maximum of 100 points in both departments. The First Moscow State Medical University in the field of “Biotechnology and bioengineering” took third place.
As stated by the RAEX agency, subject ratings are based on evaluation of the university’s three missions – education, science and the public. Taking into account the contribution of the university to social development, they indicate which universities provide the best education and scientific education to students in a particular subject area. To compile the rating, experts used the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, bibliometric data providers Clarivate Analytics and Scopus, SCAN-Interfax, a monitoring and analysis system for media and social media, etc.
The First Moscow State Medical University (Sechenov University), named after IM Sechenov, is the oldest Russian medical university, leading its history from the moment the medical faculty of Moscow University was founded in 1758. It is named after the Russian physiologist Ivan Mikhailovich Sechenov since 1955.
