A skull reconstruction of a carnivorous Spinosaurus showed it tilted its head to look ahead. Reported by the University of Greifswald.

Irritant Challengeri It was a bipedal carnivorous dinosaur known from a single skull dating back 115 million years. It lived on the territory of modern Brazil and had a long and thin mouth with a large number of almost conical teeth, and its body length is estimated by scientists to be 6.5 meters.

Marco Schade and colleagues created a CT scan of each skull bone of this dinosaur, making it possible to obtain a 3D model. Reconstruction showed that the pangolin probably holds its nose at an angle of about 45° in situations requiring close attention to its surroundings. This position allowed the gaze to be directed forward without interference from the long muzzle.

Additionally, the skull Irritant Challengeri evolved to provide a relatively weak but very quick bite. From afar, the mechanics of its mouth resembled a pelican’s beak. This suggested that the dinosaur preferred relatively small prey, including fish that had to be caught with a quick movement of the jaws.
