Skoltech press center said scientists from Jilin University, Advanced Research Center for High Pressure Science and Technology (China) and Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology have synthesized lanthanum-cerium polyhydride, a substance that could simplify further research on superconductors. It has been reported interfax.
The publication states that scientists are studying several classes of materials to detect a “room” superconductor. Experts are gradually achieving the ability of materials to stabilize at lower pressures as well as operate at higher temperatures.
“Scientists are confident they are heading in the right direction. The ultimate goal is to find a material that will conduct electric current without resistance at room temperature and atmospheric pressure.
Previously, it was known that Russian scientists created and tested the technology of 3D printing of metal foam.
Foam metal is a modern building material that resembles a sponge. Although the foam is light, unlike the metal sponge, it is very strong in compression.
