Spanish company Escribano acquired a 3% stake in the Indra group in an operation valued at more than 65 million euros. thereby becoming the second industrial partner of the multinational company and increasing its reference position in the Defense sector in Spain.
From the company, the operation was “a clear Commitment to the robustness of the Spanish Defense industry, It is a leading and strategic sector for the socio-economic development of our country, to which Escribano has a strong commitment and wants to contribute with its experience”.
With this investment, Escribano became Indra’s fifth largest shareholder. Ahead of them is the State Industrial Subsidiaries Company (SEPI), Fidelity, Amber and SAPA.
Those responsible for Escribano point out that one of the factors explaining its growth in recent years has to do with the vision it started to implement in 2010 to bring it to life. vertical integration of production capabilities.
For this reason, the company has launched an R&D+I policy that includes engineers and technical profiles to control the entire production chain of its products. Right now, Escribano designs and manufactures all of its products at its facilities in Alcalá de Henares.
In the last ten years, the company has grown from 80 employees to 700, with an estimated turnover of 140 million euros in 2023 and operates in more than 20 countries.. To achieve this, Escribano develops intensive collaboration with the academic field and promotes synergies with universities and professional training centers in the Community of Madrid.
