A tenant in Moscow removed nearly 2 tons of books from rental housing, reports Basis.

An elderly Muscovite spent his entire life buying books for his home library, and when he decided to rent out his apartment, he left the collection for storage for his tenants. The 64-year-old retiree noticed that nearly two tons of books had disappeared right after a man who had been renting a house for nearly a year moved out of his apartment.

The pensioner called the former tenant and demanded the return of the stolen property, but the man accused his friend, who allegedly lived with him for a while, of stealing. However, he did not want to give a friend’s contacts and then he himself stopped picking up the phone.

It is known that the stolen books are still in the hands of the kidnapper. It is reported that the parents of the owner of the living space began to collect the second-hand collection, as a result of which the library consists of about 4 thousand volumes and is worth about 2 million rubles.

In January, a Salekhard resident exhibited home library for saleWith 64,000 books. For such a collection of works, he asked for 2.5 million rubles.
