Viktor Skorobogatov, a suspect in the burning of an airplane at the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant, will spend the next two months behind bars. This message appeared on: area Leninsky district court of the city of Novosibirsk.
Recall that in early May, at an aviation factory in Novosibirsk, two unidentified people tried to burn a “naphthalene” Su-24 bomber.
The men set off for the territory of the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant. VA Chkalov, they tried to start a huge fire there, after which they spread the video of the burning plane on social networks. In the footage, they claimed that the bomber was completely destroyed.
Later, security forces inspected the facility’s grounds and found traces of flammable liquid under the chassis of the Su-24 aircraft, which had been stored without an engine at the flight test station since the beginning of May. The aircraft was almost unharmed from the actions of the attackers.
Today, May 15, the inspector’s petition for particularly important cases was considered in the district court. He demanded the detention of Viktor Skorobogatov, who was accused by the preliminary investigative body of committing a crime under Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
As a result, the judge sent him to a pre-trial detention center by 12 July. A prisoner under the impugned article for attempting to set fire to or damage a vehicle faces a prison sentence of 12 to 20 years.
