On May 15, Moscow will begin planned hot water cuts to prepare housing and communal services for the next heating season. This was expressed by Petr Biryukov, the capital’s deputy mayor for housing and communal services and improvement.
According to the official, hydraulic tests of the heating network of 17,000 km will be carried out, more than 74,000 buildings, including over 34,000 residences, will be prepared for the heating season.
The deputy mayor emphasized that refusing to turn off the hot water is currently impossible. He noted that the maximum time to turn off hot water in Moscow is up to 10 days, legal regulations specify a period of up to 14 days. According to Biryukov, all preventive work on the hot water supply system will be completed by September 1.
Earlier, Deputy Mayor Biryukov said that a decision was made to end the heating season in Moscow. “Taking into account the weather, it was decided to start the summer operation of the capital’s heat supply system on April 24,” the official said.
