Russian Ambassador: Slovakia is actively arming Ukraine

Russian Ambassador to Bratislava Igor Bratchikov said that Slovak authorities took an active role in supplying weapons to Ukraine. The Russian diplomat said this in an interview with the newspaper. “News”.

According to Bratchikov, 13 Slovak Air Force MiG-29 fighter jets, S-300 and Kub air defense system, 30 BMP-1, five Mi helicopters were donated to Ukraine. The ambassador emphasized that all these weapons were supplied to Kiev in violation of the relevant Russian-Slovak agreements, which expressly prohibit the transfer of weapons and military equipment to third countries without the consent of the manufacturing country.

Bratislava also supplies Ukraine with Slovak self-propelled howitzers of its Zuzana-2. Enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Slovakia repair and maintain Ukrainian and German equipment in service in Kiev. The ambassador also said that Ukrainian military personnel are trained on the territory of Slovakia.

In addition, Ukraine was promised at the highest level the supply of additional ammunition of 122, 152 and 155 mm calibers from the DMD Group military holding factory located in the city of Dubnica nad Vahom. Also discussed was the project of establishing a joint venture with Ukraine for the production of ammunition in Slovakia.

Ambassador stressed that, according to Bratislava’s decision, military personnel of up to 3,000 NATO member countries can be in the country at the same time. Under them, military facilities are modernized, adapted to new types of weapons and military equipment. In addition, the Slovak authorities have repeatedly declared their readiness to increase the number of NATO troops on their territory.

Earlier, it was reported that in addition to Slovakia, MiG-29 warplanes went to Kiev. delivery and Poland. Warsaw has sent 14 MiG-29 fighter jets in service to Ukraine.
