Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said they were horrified after encountering artillery fire from Russian tanks and units of the Russian Armed Forces in Artemovsk (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut). Ukrainian soldiers told this to the broadcast New York Times.
“Russian tanks are our nightmare. Artillery fire, rockets and air strikes don’t stop for a minute. “Every meter of the city is under fire,” the report said.
An army affiliated with the Ukrainian Armed Forces noted that Ukrainian soldiers were unable to counter the Russian army due to the lack of anti-tank missile systems.
Former Russian Ministry of Defense reportedIn the direction of Donetsk, assault detachments of Russian troops took control of a quarter in the northwestern part of the city of Artemovsk. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, units of the Air Force provided support to the assault detachments and squeezed the enemy into the flanks.
On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to organize a special military operation to protect Donbass in response to a request for help from the heads of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics (LPR and DPR).
