According to preliminary data, the incident occurred late in the evening on May 10, in a forest 16 km from the village of Ust-Omchug in Tenkinsky district.
It was stated that during the hunt, the person “mistaken the 61-year-old hunter, who was moving, with a bear” by shooting towards the forested areas from a distance of about 250 meters. As a result, the injured man died on the way to the hospital.
The regional Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation added that investigative and procedural actions are being carried out to determine all the circumstances of the incident.
