Israel has agreed to a ceasefire with the Islamic Jihad radical movement (an organization banned in Russia) in the Gaza Strip. This was announced by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, reports DEA News.

Tzachi Anegbi, head of the Israeli National Security Council, thanked Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, at the instruction of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and expressed that Jerusalem appreciated Egypt’s diligent efforts to achieve a ceasefire.

According to the head of the National Security Council, Israel’s response to Egypt’s initiative means that while the Israeli side will respond “with silence to silence”, if the country’s territory is attacked or threatened again, Jerusalem will continue to do whatever is necessary for protection.
