Nebenzia: Nearly 300 UOC communities captured in Ukraine since the beginning of 2022

Vasily Nebenzya, Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, said that from the beginning of 2022 until February 2023, about 300 congregations of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) were captured in Ukraine. It has been reported TASS.

Nebenzya noted that crossings of UOC facilities were accompanied by mass clashes, beatings of parishioners and clergy, and armed men often took part in the seizure of UOC temples.

According to the Ukrainian DESS statistical agency, in 2021 there were 6,981 congregations of the UOC in the country.
