The mobilization of citizens who have not served in the army before may adversely affect the combat capability of the Russian Armed Forces, declaration political scientist and military expert Sergei Sablin in an interview with FAN. He noted that three months of training would not be enough for men who had never held a gun.

“They didn’t have machine guns, they didn’t know what the army was, they didn’t wear uniforms. Therefore, taking them just to increase the amount of cannon fodder is not a very wise idea, ”said the political scientist.

In addition, according to him, people who do not want to take up arms because of their religious and moral beliefs should be saved from mobilization. The expert also emphasized that a person should undergo a deep psychological examination, which will allow them to come to a firm conclusion about whether their moral attitude is really that stable.

Previously, the Commission on Legislative Activities of the Government of the Russian Federation rejected proposal to exempt persons who have not completed their military service from partial mobilization.
