Russian journalist and writer Viktor Shenderovich (known in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent), who toured the Baltic countries, was doused with ketchup by Ukrainian-flagged activists in Vilnius. The video of the event was published on the Telegram channel by journalist Dmitry Elovsky.
In the video, it is seen that a person wrapped in the Ukrainian flag threw ketchup in the writer’s face and tried to explain his situation to the gathered, while another person approached Şenderovic and filmed his face.
According to the journalist, the reason for the attack was a decontextualized interview of Shenderovich about the alleged “explosions of Nazism in Ukraine” and his sympathy for Russia, which was also included in the “Peaceful” list.
According to Elovsky, people who wet the writer are St. Petersburg activist Vlad Shipitsyn and Tver blogger Mikhail Baranov.
On her Facebook page (Meta’s owner was considered extremist and banned in Russia), Shenderovich thanked everyone for their concern and said he was in “perfect condition”.
