In Japan, a reward has been announced for capturing a mythical snake-like creature, writes ask news.
Officials of Higashishirakawa Village in Gifu Province launched the Tsuchinoko Festival, which is now in its 31st year. The holiday is dedicated to the mythical snake-like creature of the same name. According to legend, the body size of the animal is about 30-80 cm, and it resembles a classic snake, but has a wider body. In recent years, as local residents say, they allegedly began to notice this creature more and more often on the streets, but they did not provide any evidence for their words.
To increase interest in the event, the village administration has offered a 1.3 million yen reward for the capture of a living Tsuchinoko. This resulted in more than 2,500 people coming to the festival from all over Japan. So far, no one has claimed the prize money.
